Job Summary

The Senior Credit Risk Quality Control Analyst is responsible for executing 2nd line of defense sample testing to ensure adherence to risk appetite statements and the accuracy of information feeding the Bank’s financial statements. Individually participate in the assessment of the 1st line of defense quality assurance program related to credit regulatory compliance, credit policy, standard adherence and risk rating accuracy.

Job Responsibilities:

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct transaction testing of reviews performed by 1st line of defense quality assurance program.
  • Analyzes a sampling of individual loan transactions for policy compliance and risk rating accuracy.
  • Conducts process/procedure risk assessments and corrective action validation reviews.
  • Maintains proficient documentation of key findings and recommendations regarding potential issues.
  • Assesses defined controls and control testing to determine sufficiency.
  • Participates in remediation activities as needed.
  • May own or help support one or more controls, processes, reports, procedures, or products.

ADDITIONAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Performs special projects, and additional duties and responsibilities as required.
  • Consistently adheres to regulatory and compliance policies and standards linked to the job as listed and complete required compliance trainings.  Accountable to maintain compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Required Qualifications:

  • Education level required: Undergraduate Degree (4 years or equivalent), in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or high school diploma with equivalent directly related experience.
  • Minimum experience required: 4 Years of risk management or quality assurance/control experience in relevant disciplines such as commercial/corporate/specialized lending, credit administration, credit review, or regulatory agency.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 4-5 years of credit quality control (QC) experience in the Financial Service Industry.

Job Competencies:

  • Strong credit analysis skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel including working knowledge of INDEX/MATCH, XLOOKUP formulas, creating interactive dashboards, automating tasks with Macros/VBA, building dynamic visualizations using PivotTables and charts, and analyzing financial and credit related data to identify potential credit risks.
  • Excellent time management while meeting deadlines and communicating status updates with management or team lead.
  • Display a high degree of motivation, initiative, collaboration and actively interact and be an engaged team member.
  • Risk and control mindset is essential.
  • Experience working with internal business partners.
  • Attention to detail to read and interpret documents such as policy, procedures, job aides, and loan documentation.
  • Ability to produce results in a timely manner with minimum oversight.
  • Ability to research, analyze data, and derive facts.
  • Occasional travel to hub markets may be required.
  • Demonstrates a strong ability to build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders by communicating clearly, engaging in proactive collaboration, and leveraging cross functional insights. Aligns relationship building efforts with enterprise goals to accelerate performance and drive strategic results.
