Job Summary

The Senior Documentation Officer reviews and/or prepares complex municipal loan documentation in accordance with internal procedures; Primary client point of contact for lease and or loan closing supporting the Municipal Products team.

Pay Range: $76,128 - $107,262Pay Range: Local Minimum Wage - $0.00 - $0.00

Job Responsibilities:

  • Closes complex loan and lease transactions with industry related documentation and ensure accurate portfolio booking; typically handles the most complex and largest transactions.

  • Acts as client primary point of contact for lease and or loan closing.

  • Uses independent judgement and prior experience to make decisions on the waiving of certain documentation.

  • Approves documentation exceptions that are consistent with business practices (allowing for documentation to be collected post close).

  • Assists junior staff with escalated issues, troubleshooting and expertise.

  • Executes and endorses contract documentation.

  • Maintains knowledge of industry and tax regulations, and other legal updates, and understand how it applies to the department; make recommendations to management regarding changes needed.

  • Assist with managing, training and development of junior documentation specialists.

  • Performs quality control of transactions reviewed and or prepared by junior documentation specialists.

  • Uses independent judgement and discretion to make decisions.

  • Analyzes and resolves problems.

  • Performs special projects, and additional duties and responsibilities as required.

  • Consistently adheres to regulatory and compliance policies and standards linked to the job as listed and complete required compliance trainings. Accountable to maintain compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education level required: High School / High School Equivalency (GED, HiSET, TASC) / Foreign Equivalent.

  • Minimum experience required: 10 Years of banking or industry experience, including at least 5 years in municipal finance experience

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. 

  • Strong ability to analyze complex documentation and make sound, independent decisions. 

  • Experience communicating with internal stakeholders and external clients. 

  • Advanced understanding of equipment and/or vehicle leasing, tax-exempt finance, and public funding regulations 

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (Insert knowledge/skills/abilities required) 

  • Occasional travel to main or remote offices or possibly client or industry related events 

  • Demonstrates a strong ability to build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders by communicating clearly, engaging in proactive collaboration, and leveraging cross functional insights. Aligns relationship building efforts with enterprise goals to accelerate performance and drive strategic results.

  • Builds trusted client relationships, whether internal or external, by identifying needs and delivering tailored solutions to enhance the overall client experience.

  • Fosters or supports a positive work culture and productive work environment, displaying importance of effective relationships with customers and stakeholders.
