Job Summary
The Accountant is responsible for ensuring the integrity of accounting information by accurate and timely reporting for financial transactions and financial reporting. Independently responds and resolves inquiries from other departments as it relates to area of expertise (i.e. loans, deposits, cash, etc.). Determines journal entry booking into the financial statements, solving reconciling items, explaining variances to respond to financial planning counterparts. Resolves non-routine variances identified through performing reconciliations. Prepares and submits financial reports and disclosures.$66,862 - $73,579 - $83,325
Job Responsibilities:
Record financial transactions in the ledger and maintain required documentation. Act as a consultant to lines of business to ensure appropriate explanations for reconciling items. Analyze accounting options and suggest financial actions. Decision journal entries and how to book when new processes/accounting standards are applicable. Resolve variances identified through performing reconciliations that are non-routine.
Complete various financial reports and disclosures following regulatory and GAAP requirements. Respond to accounting related questions by researching accounting regulations and policy. Provide analysis to financial planning to forecast on non-routine variances.
Ensure accounting controls by documenting procedures. Ensure that legal financial requirements are adhered to and provide advice on relevant actions.
Participate and/or complete accounting projects.
Guide accounting clerical staff by answering relevant questions and coordinating activities.
ADDITIONAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Performs special projects, and additional duties and responsibilities as required.
Consistently adheres to regulatory and compliance policies and standards linked to the job as listed and complete required compliance trainings. Accountable to maintain compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Required Qualifications:
Education level required: Undergraduate Degree (4 years or equivalent) in Accounting, Finance or related.
Minimum experience required: 1 Years in Accounting.
Preferred Qualifications:
Education level preferred: Master's Degree (or Postgraduate equivalent) in Accounting, Finance or related.
CPA designation preferred.
Job Competencies:
Excellent knowledge and understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel package.
Proficiency in the use of accounting software, including Microsoft.
Ability to analyze accounting options and perform mathematical computation.
Strong ability in managing and processing large quantity of data.
High proficiency in data organization, filtering, as well as combining functions.
Proactive and customer focused.
Strong ability to organize work schedules.
Efficient in communicating both orally and in writing with all levels of staff.
Self-motivated with strong ability to prioritize tasks and perform multiple duties simultaneously.
Efficient in solving problems, and working with diverse variables.
Travel requirements: Less than 10%.
Physical demands (ADA): The job requires a moderate degree of physical exertion and stamina such as standing, sitting, walking, driving or infrequent lifting.
